Been thinking about libraries a lot after reading Palaces for the People & I do think there’s some truth to what you bring up in the last point about little free libraries sort of undermining caring for public libraries. Especially because public libraries provide so many other services through the use of their space—dedicated children’s programming, web services, etc. that I think a lot of people forget when they reduce libraries to being just about book lending/swapping. TLDR this was a good post and has me in my feels
